Frequently Asked Question
Cannot clear a valve alarm
Last Updated 6 years ago
If a valve is being operated either automatically or by the system and an alarm cannot be cleared then this is due to either the valve not physically operating or the valve position sensors have either failed or not sensing the valve position.
If a valve is being commanded to operate either by manual signal or auto signal and is not moving, Check the following:
1. Is the valve receiving the output from the PLC - Check wiring and voltage at the valve head.
2.If the valve is pneumatically operated check that the pneumatic air supply is present.
If the valve is physically operating but alarming, check the following:
1.Is the valve being physically restricted in movement.
2.Are the valve position sensors working and feeding back a signal to the PLC.
3.Is the valve moving past the position sensors - Adjust if required.
